Two Styles of Residence Living
If you are a current high school student who receives a full-time offer of admission by May 29, 2025, and you meet the residence application and deposit deadline of June 2, 2025, you are guaranteed a single room in a suite-style residence.
Suite Style
Each furnished suite accommodates 4 students. Suites have private bedrooms, a full-sized kitchen with a fridge and stove, a living room and 2 full bathrooms.
There are 3 suite-style residence buildings: Founders House, Chancellors House and Governors House.
Founders and Chancellors Houses are located at the bottom of the College Drive hill. It's a short walk or a 3-minute bus ride from these residences to your classes. Governors House is located across from the athletics centre, at the top of the hill.
Townhouse Style
The townhouse-style residences are located beside the main classroom building at the top of College Drive and accommodate 6 students per house.
Built on 2 levels, each furnished townhouse has a full-size kitchen with a fridge and stove, a living room, 3 bedrooms and a 2-piece bathroom on the main floor.
The upper-level contains 3 more bedrooms, a full 4-piece bathroom and an open loft space.
Typically, townhouse-style residences are reserved for returning upper-year students.

Space in residence is guaranteed to high school students who are offered full-time admission by May 29, 2025. The remaining spaces are chosen by lottery.
A residence brochure with information about how to apply for residence is sent with the admission offer. The residence application and residence deposit must be received by June 2, 2025.

Meal plans are not mandatory, but they are available. There are a range of options, so you can pick a plan that works best for you and your lifestyle.
Plans work on a declining balance, just like a debit card.

Residence Life Special Consideration Form for Students With Disabilities
Residence Life strives to assist all students with disabilities and/or other specific personal challenges by providing residence accommodations that will meet their needs. In order to assist you, we require your help in determining how we can best address your specific needs.
We will only consider requests for a particular residence from students with disabilities that, if assigned elsewhere, will greatly affect their quality of life. Such requests include medical impairments, hearing or vision impairments, medical health conditions, physical challenges, or other permanent or ongoing medical conditions that would in some way affect the general well being of the resident.
In preparation for the start of a new academic year (September), all requests must be completed prior to June 30 of that year in order to allow for adequate consideration and facilitation within the placement process. Mid-year requests will be facilitated as placement and other necessary environmental factors permit, and in coordination with related policies and procedures.
Nipissing University has 4 rooms in residence that are accessible to physically or mobility impaired students. These accessible residences feature architecturally modified living, sleeping and washroom facilities.
