Bachelor of Community Planning

Nipissing’s new Bachelor of Community Planning will prepare graduates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address current and future planning challenges, with a focus on small to mid-sized, northern and Indigenous communities. The program will emphasize sustainable, ethical planning that respects the environment, land and diverse community perspectives, including Indigenous knowledge and rights. Students will gain hands-on experience through internships, studio courses and a capstone project supporting a strong transition to professional practice. Graduates will be well positioned to contribute to resilient, sustainable communities and pursue a pathway toward becoming professional planners.

A minimum overall average of 70% is required on your best six 4U/4M courses including prerequisites.

Prerequisites include ENG4U; 4U Math; SCH4U and one of SBI4U, SPH4U or SES4U.

Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science)

The BSc in Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary program where students will build fundamental scientific knowledge in biology, chemistry, geography, physics and earth sciences, mathematics and data sciences. This program supports advanced scientific and quantitative understanding of the environment, environmental problems and their solutions. It has been developed as a response to the immediate need for action on climate change and meaningful collaboration with government, industry and Indigenous communities. This program will provide students with foundational training to think differently about the nature of environmental problems and how to consider alternative ways of studying and resolving these problems from across the sciences.

A minimum overall average of 70% is required on your best six 4U/4M courses including prerequisites.

Prerequisites include ENG4U; one of MCV4U or MHF4U; SCH4U and one of SBI4U, SPH4U or SES4U.

Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

Nipissing introduced a fully redesigned Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) program in the fall of 2026. The new program integrates the strengths of Anthropology, Gender Equality & Social Justice, Religions & Cultures, and Sociology into one interdisciplinary degree structured around 5 flexible curriculum concentrations offering students more options and a clearer pathway to their goals.

Concentrations include:

• Health, Death and Wellness
• Education and Society
• Social Analysis and Public Policy
• Environment and Social Justice
• Media, Communications and Culture

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)

Students will now have the opportunity to choose one of following 3 streams at the end of first year.

• Education
• Experimental
• Mental Health

Bachelor of Science (Psychology)

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology has been renamed Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Behavioural Neuroscience.

Starting in 2027, applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Behavioural Neuroscience will now require the following prerequisite courses:

• ENG4U; SBI4U and SCH4U

A minimum overall average of 70% is required on your best six 4U/4M courses including prerequisites.

Bachelor of Business Administration

You will be required to present two 4U Math courses for admission consideration. If you do not have two 4U Math courses, you will still be eligible for admission consideration; however, students admitted without two 4U Math courses will be required to complete MATH 1911 and/or MATH 1912 in their first year.

Bachelor of Arts (Social Welfare and Social Development)

Admission has been paused for Social Welfare and Social Development. This includes Social Welfare and Social Development with a Social Service Worker diploma. Applicants who have a passion for social issues, want to advocate for social justice, and/or want to focus on the causes and consequences of inequality should consider Nipissing's newly redesigned Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program. Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice)

The minimum average for admission consideration to Criminal Justice is 70%.

Concurrent Education

The minimum average for admission consideration to Concurrent Education is 70%.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Nipissing will consider both SL and HL courses with a 5 or better for possible transfer credit. You will no longer be required to complete the IB diploma in order to be considered for transfer credit. All individual courses will be considered. If you complete the IB diploma, you may be eligible to receive up to 30 transfer credits (1 year).

Equal Consideration Deadline for Limited Enrollment Programs

Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (BPHE), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), and Bachelor of Arts in History with an Orientation to a Master of Arts in History (OMAH) will now have an equal consideration deadline of February 17, 2027. Please see below for details:

Equal Consideration Deadline: February 17, 2027

These highly competitive programs typically have more qualified applicants than space available. This is the deadline to apply to receive equal consideration for admission with all other applicants. Programs may continue to accept applications after this date. Qualified applicants will continue to be considered for admission provided room remains in the program, otherwise a position on the waiting list may be offered.

A limited number of offers will be released starting at the beginning of December 2026. Most offers will begin to be released starting at the beginning of March 2027. Qualified applicants who do not apply by the equal consideration deadline will be considered for admission no later than the end of May 2027, provided room remains in the program. If the program is full, qualified applicants will be offered a position on the waiting list and considered for admission to an alternate program.
