University of Waterloo – United College
Above all else, United College is a community. It is a residence, an academic institution and an innovation incubator. We are the campus leads for Indigenous Studies, Canadian Studies, Indigenous Entrepreneurship and Human Rights. We share in the delivery of the International Development program and the major in Religious Studies. We also teach social entrepreneurship through GreenHouse and the Indigenous Entrepreneurship Incubator, our unique innovation incubators. And we are a comforting home away from home to over 300 students per term.
United College does not directly admit students. You can apply to one of the University of Waterloo's programs and can then take courses and/or live at United College.

Important Information
Scholarships and Awards
Most universities offer scholarships. Unlike having to pay back a loan, you do not need to pay back a scholarship. Universities award scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, extracurricular activities and other distinctions.
You can apply for some scholarships and may be automatically considered for others.
University Events
Universities host events like open houses, campus tours, Student for a Day programs, and virtual tours to help you explore what student life is really like. These events are a great way to experience the campus, connect with current students and faculty, and get a feel for whether a university is the right fit for you.
Offers of Admission
United College, a University College affiliated with the University of Waterloo and located on its main campus, does not directly admit students. You can apply to one of the University of Waterloo's programs and can then take courses and/or live at United College.

Residence Guarantee
Eligible first-year students can live at United College as part of the University of Waterloo’s first-year residence guarantee. That means when you apply for residence through Waterloo, United is one of the residence communities where you may be placed. If you receive a residence offer for United, we will guide you through the next steps, including room preferences, roommate matching, and Living Learning Community options.

Meal Plans
A convenient, all-you-can-eat meal plan is included in your fees when you become a resident of the United College residence community, which means you will never run out of money for food!
Watson's Eatery offers a range of options at meal times, including vegetarian and halal meals, as well as our soup and salad bar. Our menus change regularly to reflect the preferences and requests of our student residents.
