Full Tuition for Students with 95%+
If you are a top scholar with an average of 80% or higher, you qualify to automatically receive an entrance scholarship to Trent. Scholars with 95% or higher? You earn free first-year tuition – no application required.
Trent’s guaranteed (and renewable) national entrance scholarships are available for Canadian students entering first year at Trent.
Entrance scholarships are renewable provided the student maintains a minimum 80% average in a full course load during the previous academic year. This can really pay off – with a total scholarship potential of more than $18,000 over 4 years.

Bachelor of Arts & Science / Doctor of Naturopathy Double Degree: Earn 2 respected credentials—a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Trent and a Doctor of Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM)—in just 7 years. This first-of-its-kind pathway blends interdisciplinary learning with clinical training, preparing you to lead in the growing field of integrative health.
Students begin their studies at Trent, where they explore the intersections of science, humanities and health through a curriculum designed to meet CCNM’s professional prerequisites. After 3 years, eligible students transition to CCNM’s Toronto campus for 4 years of clinical and classroom training in naturopathic medicine.
Throughout the program, students benefit from coordinated advising, joint recruitment and support services, and a curriculum that seamlessly bridges undergraduate and professional education. Whether you are drawn to holistic healing, scientific inquiry or community wellness, this double degree offers a unique opportunity to turn your passion into a profession.
Kinesiology Co-op: This hands-on, career-track degree teaches you the knowledge and skills to become a highly skilled and career-ready practitioner of kinesiology (the study of human movement). You will learn how to prescribe customized exercise programs and analyze movement patterns for a variety of individuals. As a Trent Kinesiology student, you are encouraged to apply your learning – in the lab and out in the community – working with everyone from high-performance athletes to senior citizens. When you graduate, you will have the required expertise to pursue certification as a registered kinesiologist (R.Kin.).
Trent's paid co-op is an opportunity for you to gain work-integrated experiential learning that will help you get a head start on your career. The Kinesiology co-op assists graduating students in achieving a competitive edge while generating experience within a wide range of sectors.
Specifically, paid co-op gives you a chance to obtain 12 months of practical experience on the job, develop or enhance technical skills, explore career options, network with a variety of individuals and organizations, learn from mentors, enhance communication and presentation skills, and develop technical writing skills.
Psychology Co-op: In Psychology at Trent you will gain a better understanding of yourself and others, diving into a scientific discipline with a multitude of practical applications. Psychology majors examine a broad range of topics, with the opportunity to design your degree to focus on more specialized areas of study including neuroscience, language and cognition, emotional intelligence, sexuality, aging and cognition, memory, and childhood development, just to name a few. Here, you will find yourself developing problem-solving, interpersonal and critical-thinking skills as you work alongside your professors and peers to understand, interpret and evaluate research.
Accelerate your career through the 5 year co-op stream with paid work terms. Trent's paid co-op is an opportunity for you to gain work-integrated experiential learning that will help you get a head start on your career. The Psychology co-op assists graduating students in achieving a competitive edge while generating experience within a wide range of sectors.
Law & Arts/Law & Business: Trent/Swansea Dual Degree (LLB & BA or LLB & BBA): In this one-of-a-kind program, you will graduate with 2 degrees in just 6 years – a Bachelor of Arts Honours or a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Trent and a law degree from Swansea University's renowned Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. You will have the chance to take your education global while you live, learn, travel, explore and live abroad in the UK.
Software Engineering Co-op (BSc): As the global demand for software skills continues to grow and evolve, this new stand-alone degree program – one of only 2 Software Engineering programs at Ontario universities to be offered through a Computer Science department – features extensive paid co-op opportunities, providing you with a streamlined pathway to the workforce and equipping you with the relevant interpersonal and technical skills to succeed.
The program differs from a traditional Bachelor of Engineering credential as it looks at the subject area through a cross-departmental lens. As a result, when you enter the workforce upon graduation, you will be well trained in specialized Software Engineering skills and knowledge, as well as educated in complementary disciplines such as Computer Science and Information Systems. Here you will study a range of subjects, including object-oriented programming, algorithms and data structures, systems software, cross platform applications, software architecture and design, software quality, web development and computer security.
Scholarships and Awards
Many universities offer scholarships to recognize your achievements and help cover the cost of your education. Some are based on grades, financial need, or extracurricular involvement, and you may be automatically considered or need to apply. Scholarships can be one-time or renewable, so be sure to check the details.

These events are a great way to experience the campus, connect with current students and faculty, and get a feel for whether a university is the right fit for you.
Offers of Admission
Basic Requirements for Admission (Required for All Programs)
You must complete the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). A minimum average of 70% is required for consideration for admission. A minimum grade of 60% must be obtained in ENG4U. You must present a minimum of six 4U/M courses to be considered for admission.
Note: Some programs may have higher average and supplementary application requirements. Some programs may also require a minimum number of 4U/M courses.
Failed and Repeated Courses
If you repeat a course, the highest of the 2 grades will be used in the admission average calculation, if applicable.
Timing and Process for Admission Decisions
For full-time enrollment beginning in September, Trent University expects to send offers of admission on an ongoing basis starting in January.
You must complete or be registered in six 4U/M courses. Admission decisions will be made using grades from a minimum of 3 final 4U/M courses if you are in a semestered school, or 6 interim 4U/M courses if you are in a non-semestered school.
Grade 11 grades may be used to extend an early offer of admission when sufficient 4U/M grades are not available. All offers of admission are conditional, pending the successful completion of all OSSD requirements and prerequisites with satisfactory academic standing.
Extenuating Circumstances
If your academic grades have been impacted by extenuating circumstances, we encourage you to to complete an Extenuating Circumstance Supplemental Application.
After you apply through the OUAC, you can access this application on the myTrent portal, under the “Academics” tab. The University will review each situation on a case‑by‑case basis.

Academic Advising
Undergraduate academic advising at Trent is an on-going educational partnership between advisor and advisee that is dedicated to student learning, development and success.
Academic Advisors help undergraduate students clarify their academic goals, decide which courses to take, understand academic regulations and degree requirements, connect with the services they need and ultimately take charge of their own education.
Academic Advising offers individual in-person and remote appointments for undergraduate students Monday to Friday. Meet with an academic advisor in-person, via video chat or on the phone.

First Peoples House of Learning (Indigenous Student Resources)
First Peoples House of Learning (FPHL) is honoured to offer cultural services to a diverse community of Indigenous learners (First Nations Status, Non-Status, Métis, and Inuit). We collaborate with students to support their academic success, personal development and leadership potential.
Counselling
Located in FPHL, the Indigenous Student Therapist is available to navigate a variety of mental health concerns with Indigenous Students at both the Trent University Symons, and Durham campuses. Confidential, individual counselling sessions, as well as group workshops and sharing circles are accessible to all Indigenous students at no cost. With the goal of helping students create balance and participate fully within the Trent community, services are short-term in nature and may include virtual or in-person talk-therapy sessions, safety planning, skill building and participating in culturally-centered, holistic mental health support.

Tutoring
Our students come to Trent with an incredible base of knowledge. However, we do not expect you to know everything you need to know to become a successful student. In some cases, you may find that you need some help in a very specific subject area, whether it be math, chemistry, writing an essay, etc. The FPHL provides tutoring to First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students. These tutors may be upper-year students hired by the FPHL, or they could be a referral from an academic department.
Peer Mentorship Program
The Ishkodehwin Indigenous Peer Mentorship Program aims to support incoming Indigenous students in making a successful transition to university life and academic expectations through peer-to-peer support, intentional mentorship opportunities and cultural engagement.
Ishkodehwin provides one-on-one meetings, monthly events, weekly study sessions and community building while attending Trent University.

Counselling Services
Trent Counselling Services offers confidential, short-term mental health support at no cost to all registered students. Our dedicated therapists promote mental health and wellness with the goal of helping students participate fully in the Trent community.
Culturally Affirming Mental Health Support
Trent University Counselling Services is committed to providing culturally affirming psychotherapy that acknowledges the different lived experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour to their mental health challenges and well being.
We know that seeking mental health support can sometimes be difficult for many reasons, including, but not limited to, fear of being misunderstood and invalidated, stigma and the burden of having to explain one's culture and worldview.
Ontario Shores Structured Psychotherapy Program
Partnered with Trent University, Ontario Shores Structured Psychotherapy Program provides structured, time-limited therapy to adults with depression and anxiety-related conditions. Supports are publicly-funded, evidence-based and focus on practical strategies for managing your mental health concerns.
Health & Wellness - Health Services
Trent Student Health Services is a team of caring, dedicated, multi-disciplinary professionals with expertise in university health issues.
As part of the Student Wellness Centre, we support a diverse student population through the provision of confidential primary health care, health promotion, disease prevention and wellness education.
Student Health Services is an appointment-based medical clinic for all registered part-time and full-time students at Trent's Symons Campus.
Health & Wellness - Student Accessibility Services
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is a team of interdisciplinary professionals who provide support to students with disabilities through one-on-one advising, referrals to campus supports and adaptive technology. SAS supports include:
- Developing individualized accommodation plans for registered students;
- Working with students to develop approaches and strategies that use students' strengths to help them engage with their coursework;
- Offering support through an Adaptive Technologist, using a hands-on approach which allows students to learn how their technology works and how it can be used in their studies; and
- Directing and connecting students to appropriate campus resources.

Each unique residence is an integral part of the college system. Professional Campus Residence Life Coordinators and student Dons reside in each college.

Your space in residence is guaranteed if you apply by the deadline. We assign your self-selected rooms based on the date you pay your $50 residence application fee.
Residence applications will be available online by February 5, 2027. We will confirm your place in residence once we receive your application and related residence fees.
