- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person of protected/refugee status or an international student.
- Meet the minimum academic standard required by U SPORTS for athletic awards.
- Be a member of the Gee-Gees program at the University of Ottawa.
- Some of the awards may also have 1 or more of the following criteria:
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa;
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules;
- be a member of a racialized community; and/or
- provide documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the University of Ottawa Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative procedure.

- Confirmation of Ontario residency and the postal code of the applicant’s permanent address.
- Self-identification from the applicant who identifies as a member of a racialized community as per the Ontario Human Rights Commission (if applicable).
- Documented proof of Indigenous identity, in accordance with the University of Ottawa Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis People administrative procedure (if applicable).
