- Be admitted or registered as a full-time or part-time student at the University of Ottawa.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.
- Have overcome and/or is dealing with significant and long-term life challenges.
- Be registered full-time or part-time during the Fall term following the application deadline.

Former recipients of this fund are eligible to receive it again upon reapplication should they meet all the eligibility criteria. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of 4 years for undergraduate students and for a maximum of 2 years for master's students.
