- Be a graduating student from Earl of March High School in Kanata, Ontario;
- be a Canadian citizen;
- be admitted to an undergraduate program at the Faculty of Science (preference will be given to students admitted to a program in biochemistry);
- have an admission average of at least 85%; and
- have been an all-round student during high school years involved in school sports activities, community sports activities, school fundraisers, student council, organization of school events, part-time jobs in the community area served by Earl of March High School, noteworthy scholastic achievements, etc.

In the case of multiple candidates meeting the base requirements, the selection committee will select the recipient based on the award policies and standard criteria used by the Financial Aid and Awards Service at the time of selection.
