Available to full-time undergraduate students entering a Bachelor of Arts program. The recipient must demonstrate financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant) or protected person, and a long-term resident of Ontario. The recipient will have the highest overall average in best six Grade 12 U/M courses or Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) in combination with financial need. This scholarship is renewable for each of the remaining 3 years of study in the BA program if a minimum GPA of 10.0 (A-) is maintained, and provided that the candidate continues to be a resident of Ontario and has proven financial need.

Including renewals, a total of 3 awards are supported annually; because this award is renewable and the total number of recipients is limited, it may or may not be available to new applicants in any given academic year.
This is an endowed award established to recognize the significant contributions of Willard Z. Estey, Chancellor of Laurier from July 1990 to October 1995.
