Granted to an outstanding full-time undergraduate student, entering year 1 of the Honours Economics program directly from high school, who demonstrates high academic achievement in addition to substantial high-quality involvement in student activities, creative endeavours or community service. This scholarship is renewable in second year providing the recipient continues full-time registration in year 2 of the Honours Economics program, achieves a minimum cumulative GPA of 10.0 or "A-" and continues to be involved in student activities, creative endeavours or community service. Because this award is renewable, it may or may not be available to new applicants in any given academic year.

Additional Information

This is an annual scholarship; established by Wilfrid Laurier University in memory of Dr John Weir, President of WLU from 1982 to 1992, to recognize the contributions he made to the University during his tenure from 1965 until his retirement in 1992 and beyond.
