School of Policy, Law, and Social Change
King’s School of Policy, Law, and Social Change (SPLSC) is for students who want to understand how the world works and how they can help change it for the better.
This new school brings together 5 programs at King’s: Childhood and Youth Studies, Disability Studies, History, Politics and International Relations, and Social Justice and Peace Studies. Together, these programs explore how laws, policies, governments, histories, cultures and social movements shape people’s lives and communities.
Students can study topics connected to human rights, equality, accessibility, advocacy, global issues, children’s rights, public policy, social justice and peacebuilding. Across the school, students are encouraged to think critically about systems and structures, ask important questions and consider how they can contribute to more equitable communities. For students interested in areas such as law, education, government, public policy, advocacy, non-profit work, social services or international relations, SPLSC offers a strong foundation in critical thinking, research, communication and understanding complex social issues.
Through classroom learning, community engagement and experiential opportunities, students can connect what they learn to real-world issues and prepare for academic and career goals that make a difference.

Analytics and Decision Sciences (ADS)
Want to turn data into smarter decisions? King’s' new Analytics and Decision Sciences (ADS) program helps you do just that. This interdisciplinary minor combines mathematics, business and social science to explore how data, technology and human judgement work together to solve real-world problems.
You will learn in-demand skills like Python, R and Excel, and explore the powerful world of artificial intelligence and machine learning. More importantly, you will learn how to apply these tools to real business and management challenges, helping organizations make better decisions more quickly.
ADS can be paired with any major, specialization or honours specialization at King’s, Huron or Western’s main campus, giving you the flexibility to build a degree that matches your interests and career goals.
If you are curious about business, tech and the future of decision-making, this program will help you turn that curiosity into career-ready skills.

Basic Requirements for Admission
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- A minimum of 6 grade 12U/M level courses (excluding co-op), including English (ENG4U)
- Proof of English Language Proficiency if English is not your first language
- All your completed and in-progress Grade 11U/M level courses
- Requirements specific to your program (required courses or supplemental forms)
- If you are registered to take a course outside of your home school, make sure it is Ministry-accredited. Grades must be reported through the OUAC.
Failed and Repeated Courses
If you fail and repeat a course or choose to upgrade a particular course, King's will use the higher of the 2 grades presented when calculating the admission average.
Timing and Process for Admission Decisions
King's will extend offers of admission, scholarships and residence to students with strong academic transcripts in rounds beginning in November and continuing into July as more grades are received. We will review your application every single round. Typically, the last round is in July once final grades are received. You must be enrolled in, or have completed the prerequisite courses for your programs of choice. There is no disadvantage to getting an offer in the later rounds, so do not worry if you do not hear back early.

King’s does not have automatic alternative offers of admission. If you wish to be considered for more than 1 program, list each program as a separate choice on your OUAC application.
Circonstances atténuantes
King's University College welcomes applicants who meet or are slightly below King’s minimum admission requirements, or who may be below the competitive average for a particular program and:
- Have experienced circumstances that impacted academic performance (Extenuating Circumstances), and/or
- Have demonstrated commitment, excellence or achievement in other endeavours or have succeeded in their studies amidst difficult circumstances (Diverse Qualifications Admission).

Summer Academic Orientation
King’s is here to support students as they prepare for course registration and their transition to university. After accepting an offer of admission, students receive access to a personalized Enrollment Portal that includes an online orientation module with guidance on course selection, registration, and important next steps.
Additional support is available through Live Chat from June to August, along with special Zoom sessions to help students feel confident and prepared as they get ready for their first year at King’s.

First-year residence students at King’s choose 1 of 3 meal plans, all designed to give you flexible, convenient access to meals on campus—plus Off-Campus Dollars for added variety. Your meal plan can be used at several dining locations across campus.
The heart of on-campus dining is Thames Market in Wemple Hall, a full-service food court offering a wide range of fresh, nutritious options. Whether you are craving all-day breakfast, custom stir fries, build-your-own salads and wraps, hearty pasta bowls or classic comfort food, you will find something that fits your taste and schedule.
You can also stop by our café in the Student Life Centre for coffee and tea, breakfast, lunch and a variety of grab-and-go snacks.
King’s will be moving to an All You Care to Eat Model for the 2027/28 academic year. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Here is a look at our 2025–26 residence meal plan options:
- Meal Plan 1 – $5,500 (includes $300 in Off-Campus Dollars)
- Meal Plan 2 – $5,800 (includes $500 in Off-Campus Dollars)
- Meal Plan 3 – $6,100 (includes $700 in Off-Campus Dollars)
Meal plans automatically renew for the winter term and are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you have remaining flex dollars on your OneCard as of April 30, they will carry over to the next academic year.
A meal plan is required for all first-year residence students.
